New to the It’s Just A Bad Day blog is the ‘Chew On This!’ series! In this series I’ll review anti-inflammatory recipes that I’ve tried or perhaps made up! Starting this lifestyle really feels like starting a whole new adventure – and why wouldn’t you want to come along!
Starting an anti-inflammatory diet is very important to me because others have found great relief from deleting certain food items from their life. The plan that I’m going to follow is the “Meals That Heal Inflammation: Embrace Healthy Living and Eliminate Pain, One Meal at at Time” 5 phase diet by Julie Daniluk. For 8 weeks I will go gluten, dairy and sugar free to allow my digestive system to heal itself. After that 8 weeks I will then start to introduce foods back into my diet to identify which ingredients bother me. Reactions my body may have to foods may be tiredness, brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, etc. By the end of the 5 phases I will identify which items to eliminate from my diet to help ease my arthritic pain! Maybe I can get my inflammation down so low that I could possibly start cutting out medications? (A girl can hope!!)
Julie’s book has many recipe suggestions, but I feel like I just opened pandora’s box on the internet! If you have any suggested recipes please let me know! I’m still very new to this diet and I’m not familiar with all the great sites. In a new menu option (coming soon!) I’d like to build an anti-inflammatory diet catalogue for others who have embarked or are thinking about embarking on this journey as well.
